Hi Ivy Families! We had another amazing week! Beyond celebrating the wild and wacky Cubs victory, students explored, discussed, investigated and collaborated with their classmates to gain a better understanding of all the new content they are learning! Have a great weekend and remember that students to do not have school on Monday as it is a Institute Day. We'll see everyone on Tuesday! Scott HalloweenTuesday, October 31st is Halloween and will not be a traditional school day. We want this to be a fun and safe day for all. During the morning, students should arrive to school in normal attire (with the exception of AM Kindergartners). In the afternoon, we will be allowing students to leave for lunch/costume change. Cooperation and adherence to these times/procedures by all will provide an organized event and account for the safety of all our students. Please see the table below for specific details. Please see attachments for additional information and Kindergarten guidelines.
Seasonal Health InformationThis time of year is when we notice sporadic cases of lice in the school community. Please take a moment to read about what you should look for, symptoms and ways to treat it at home. Please call our school nurse if you suspect that your child has lice or if you would like further information. All exchanges will be kept confidential. We appreciate your support!
Henry Cole...One Author One SchoolWe are excited to announce that during the next 4 weeks, Ivy Hill will participate in a special project called One Author, One School! Classroom teachers will be reading books by Henry Cole and we will participate in many fun activities as a school. We will complete the project with a visit from Henry Cole on November 8th! This week started the search to find the mouse and tweet out a class picture. Check #IvyHillLeague to see our findings! Students have begun working on art projects related to his books and the LMC is learning about Henry Cole and reading his many picture books. Book order forms will be coming home soon. Families will have the opportunity to purchase autographed books from Henry Cole. Keep watching #IvyHillLeague and @henrycolebooks for our tweets!
