Hi Ivy Hill Families! I hope you all are enjoying the long weekend! I can’t believe we only have 6 more school days left in the school year. It has been a tremendous year, filled with amazing learning experiences and new friendships! As we begin to wrap up this year, we still have some fun events remaining! Field Day Field Day is Friday, June 3rd. The morning session will be for K(AM), half of 3, all of 4 and 5 and will run from approximately 9-12. The afternoon session is for K(PM), 1, 2 and other half of 3 and will run from 12:30-3. Also, the students will be snacking on pretzels, grapes and flavor ice pops. Please reference the previous school messenger for specific information regarding the food being served. Hi Ivy Hill Families! As we close in on the end of the year and begin to reflect on it, the concept of "change" has been a focus for us throughout the year. I personally think that change is always a good thing as it challenges us and moves us forward toward becoming better and more complete. We have experienced a lot of change this year especially with our expansion. I feel pride to see the progress, especially this week when our courtyard was completed. With new sod, a tree, and a duck with eggs, our staff is beaming with excitement and already has started to plan how to use this new space! The construction continues to be on schedule, with Ivy set to be ready for the 2016-17 school year. The teachers and students are also hoping to see the eggs hatch before they leave for the summer :) Another change recently at Ivy is the addition of two new Eagles on the staff. Even though you may have already met them, I wanted to take a minute to formally introduce Steve Reese (Facilities Operation Manger) who joined us and took over for Don Lossie who retired earlier this year. Additionally, Jamee Falknor (RN) took over for Darlene Carpenter who is now at Windsor everyday. They both have jumped right in and made such a positive impact on our school. I feel extremely fortunate to have both on our team. Thanks Steve and Jamee! The next couple of weeks are packed full of events! Our PTA Family & Community Involvement Committee will be starting our annual food drive on Monday, May 23rd through Thursday, May 26th. See the attached list of items that are in most need. Please have your children bring the Items to school and deposit them in their classroom box. Additionally, the homeroom who brings in the most supplies wins a prize :) I can't think of a better way to end a school year, so let's show our Eagle support for this great cause! Tuesday, May 24th 3rd grade Wendella Boats 4th grade Art Institute 5th grade Patrol Boomers Baseball.
