Hi Ivy Families! I hope you are enjoying the weekend so far! I just wanted to share a couple reminders: No School for students next week as we have Parent/Teacher Conferences on Monday and Tuesday. With the snow arriving, please make sure your child is properly dressed with a warm jacket, boots, hats, gloves, and snow pants if they want to play in the snow. Remember, we go outside until the temperature reaches zero degrees. 1st grade Music Performance: December 17th (doors open 2:30pm) PTA Holiday Workshop is on Saturday, December 5th starting at 9:00am This year District 25 and the Arlington Heights Council of PTAs will host an Education Fair with the theme of “Teachnology”. Students and Staff will have the opportunity to share with peers, parents and community members about how they use technology. EVERYBODY COUNTS! Was a great success this week! Students at each grade participated in activities that taught them about different types of disabilities. A special THANKS to all the parent volunteers who made this happen! Another big THANK-YOU to everyone who helped support our Veterans Day service project. We filled close to 15 large boxes! We can’t wait to make our delivery to Edward Hines VA Hospital!! We are extremely excited to welcome Ethan Long an award-winning author and illustrator! Monday starts our Everybody Counts Week, sponsored by our PTA. Throughout the week, each grade will participate in activities with the help of parent volunteers to learn more about children with different types of disabilities. ABC 25 Membership: We only need 25 more families to join for Ivy Hill to receive a $2500 grant!! ABC25 Foundation is the fund raising partner of Arlington Heights School District 25. They work with all district schools to provide grants that enable the schools to utilize cutting edge teaching tools in the education of our students. We are so close to our goal, please join today ABC25 Membership , We do not want our students and teachers miss out on this $2500 grant! Holiday Gift Shop: Calling ALL crafters! We are looking for Adults & Kids to sell their creations/crafts at our annual Holiday Gift Shop coming up on Saturday, December 5th. Adult tables are $25 and Kid tables are $10. This letter describes what Erin's Law is and how we are going to implement the requirements this year. On December 1, 2015 and December 3, 2015, we will hold information nights for any parent or family member who wishes to better understand what their child will be learning as part of this initiative. The same information will be shared on both nights. The informational night will take place in the multipurpose room at the AHSD 25 Administration Building (1200 S. Dunton Ave, Arlington Heights, IL 60005) at 7:00 pm. If you are unable to attend the program, information will also be available on the District’s website. We were able to take my son out to a couple houses for his 1st Trick-or-Treating experience, which was pretty fun! He also had his 1st birthday on Friday, so an exciting weekend at the Kaese household!
I would like to thank all the parents who lined up outside to watch the parade. Many students shared they felt like celebrities as everyone was taking pictures of them! It was great to see some of our parents dressed up as well! Also, a special thanks to all the parents who created such memorable classroom parties! All the kids were laughing and enjoying every minute as they spent time eating and playing amazing games with their friends. Thanks to the entire Ivy Hill Community for making Friday such a fun day!
