Final Post for 2018-2019What a tremendous year! I want to thank everyone for making the 2018-2019 school year a memorable one. We had so much fun celebrating, encouraging, collaborating and enriching each other on a daily basis! Ivy Hill is truly an awesome place to learn and grow! Before we head off into summer break, I’d like to thank Mrs. Laura Como (5th grade Teacher) and Mrs. Jen Vaslow (School Psychologist) for their time and energy that they have given to our Ivy Students over the years. I wish Jen the best of luck at Dryden and Laura in her future endeavors! Mrs. Bonta (Teaching Assistant) and Deb Solus (Resource Teacher) will both be retiring this year. I’d like to thank them for their many years of service and positive impact on our students, staff and parent community. They have made such a difference to the school and we all wish them the best! As we begin to look ahead to next year, you will notice some familiar faces in different places! Mrs. Taylor - 3rd grade Miss Black - 5th grade We’d also like to welcome new staff to Ivy as well! Be Courageous, Be Kind Scott PTA Parent SurveyWe’ve created the below survey to get parent feedback about how we can continue to make sure we’re meeting the needs of our Ivy families. We hope we can get the majority of our families to complete it to help us make decisions for next year. Please complete by July 1. The survey will be closed afterwards. Thanks so much! Summer Keyboarding ChallengeStudents from each school are challenged over the summer to log into typingtraining.com and practice their keyboarding skills.
Minutes practiced will be tallied and a multiplier is used to account for the different number of possible student keyboarders at each school. The school with the highest number of minutes at the end of the summer will win the coveted Golden Keyboard and bragging rights. Top student at each school gets a reward, as well. Here is a link to the competition Let’s help keep the Golden Keyboard at Ivy Hill for another year! Hi Ivy Families, Thanks for a wonderful last full week of school! We started with a Musical Monday and finished with a beautiful day for our Field Day! Thanks to all the parents who volunteered to make it such a memorable day for all our kids!! A huge thanks the Ivy PTA for providing lunch on Field Day..It was terrific!! Be Courageous, Be Kind Scott Last Day Line-UpIt's quickly become one of our new traditions at Ivy! On the last day, starting at 8:50am, we are going to have kids line up in homerooms outside on the blacktop(weather permitting), like we did the first day of school. Kindergarten will line-up by their door. Students taking the bus will line up on the blacktop once they arrive at school starting at 8:50. This will give parents/staff an opportunity to take class and friend pictures along with bringing us all back together one final time. Students will then enter the school at approximately 9:05 to begin their final day of the 18-19 School Year! If it does rain, we will have to cancel the gathering and do our typical line-up inside. Hope you see you Monday morning! Summer Keyboarding ChallengeStudents from each school are challenged over the summer to log into typingtraining.com and practice their keyboarding skills.
