Hi Ivy Families! It was another awesome week of learning, which was filled with a lot of snow :) Thanks again to all the parents who helped clean off all the cars this week. It truly was appreciated by all! Please continue to encourage your children to practice the 3W's over the weekend as it helps us immensely here at school. Have a wonderful weekend! Scott Nurse NotePlease send an extra mask with your kids as we have noticed the need to replace them more frequently as the masks have become wet after recess and playing in the snow. Thanks for your help! Thanks again to all our PTA volunteers who help on a daily basis to make Ivy Hill an amazing school! Hi Ivy Families! We had another great week of learning and growing at Ivy Hill! As we welcomed back more Ivy Eagles this week, we need to be even more diligent in our safety measures inside and outside of school. Even over the weekends, please continue to practice our 3 W's of "Washing your hands, Watching your distance, and Wearing your mask". These simple measures will continue to help minimize the potential for the spread Covid inside and outside of school. Thanks again for your help and support this year! Be Courageous, Be Kind, Be Safe Scott Parent Teacher ConferencesThe next round of parent teacher conferences are scheduled for February 11 and 12. We will use SignUpGenius as we have in the past to allow parents to sign up. We will send the active link on Friday, January 29th at 12:00pm. Arrival and DismissalWhen arriving for pick up in your car, please yield at the 3-way stop and keep the street/parking lot intersections clear. Also, keep the sidewalk and crosswalks clear. Pull into the parking lot using the Burke/Ivy Entrance closest to the school: right lane- for student pick-up/drop-off only; left lane- for parking lot entrance. Once you enter the “Drop-off” “Pick-Up” Zone, you MUST stay in line. Also please follow the directions of our staff Please pull forward as far as you can so we can maximize the number of cars in our Zone. Please remain in your car for both arrival and departure to help expedite the flow of traffic. More information Valentine's DayThis year our celebrations will be held virtually to make sure everyone can enjoy the fun! With about 50% of our students who are remote in Step 4, the logistics to have an "exchange" would be too complicated. So, unfortunately, we will not be able to do the traditional exchange. Our PTA room reps are hard at work creating and designing a lot of fun experiences for our students. I look forward to seeing them on the 15th. Food ServiceOur Food Services Department is so proud to be offering a free lunch to our in-person learners every Tuesday - Friday (Funding provided by the USDA). Each morning your child is being asked if they would like lunch for the day. Please have a conversation with your child to help them determine if they would like to order lunch for the day. Please see the daily menu below for your reference. Erin's Law PresentationIn the next several months we will be doing Erin's Law lessons in each of the classrooms. Arrival/Dismissal Reminders
Thanks for your support and cooperation! AttendanceValentines DayClassroom Celebrations will be on Monday, February 15th. More information to come! Inauguration Day 2021As we have done in the past, teachers and staff have been asked to refrain from showing the live/real-time Inauguration Day events to our students. Instead, they may choose to share clips of this important American event after they have had the chance to review the footage for age-appropriate content. Dogs on School PropertyMany of us love pets of all kinds! Bringing pets onto school property, however, can cause some concerns. We do have students who are allergic to some pets. We, also, have students who are very afraid of dogs. Also, please know that some children are very anxious seeing a dog on school grounds. Thank you for helping our students feel safe at school by not bringing them on school grounds.
