Hi Ivy Families!
This past week we celebrated Everybody Counts. This week helped all of us remember the importance of being thankful, understanding and considerate of everyone. The activities and experiences each student had truly helped them gain empathy for others who may have different life experiences. Thanks to all the parent volunteers and PTA Committee Members who organized this spectacular week for the students. As the first trimester comes to a close, I wanted to share with everyone again that Ivy Hill strives to create, teach and model experiences for students to be Problem Solvers, Innovators, Encouragers of others, Considerate and inclusive of everyone, and Engaged/Empowered. It’s important to remember that we all model and contribute to the success of Ivy Hill. Each student, teacher and parent provides a PIECE to what makes the Ivy Hill School tremendous! Thanks for all your contributions throughout this first trimester! Reminders:

Thanks for another great week!
I hope many of our students and families have recovered from “Cubbie Blue Flu” which seemed to hit our school on Friday :) The Cubs winning the World Series is not only a special and historical moment, it’s a great example perseverance! I hope everyone was able to enjoy the moment! As we head into the season of “thanks” and “giving”, we thought this would be the perfect time for Ivy Hill to show our Eagle Pride by supporting two great causes during our first ever Service Week. We will be supporting two amazing groups, Hines V.A. Hospital to support our veterans and One Warm Coat starting on Monday, November 7th - Friday, November 11th. PTA “Hat, Mitten and Coat Drive” Did you know that nearly 15% of Americans are living in poverty and struggling to provide warm coats for themselves and their families? Make a difference and bring gently used hats, mittens and coats the week of November 7th and place in boxes outside the offices in Ivy Hill Commons. “Eagles Support our Veterans” Veterans Day is a special day for us to take time to say “thanks” to all those people who have served our country. Ivy Hill would like to show our appreciation by helping our veterans in need. We will be collecting “comfort supplies” for our veterans from Monday, November 7th – Friday, November 11th and place in boxes outside their classrooms. We will then deliver these items to the V.A. Hospital the following week. PTA News Be sure to click HERE to read more about our upcoming PTA Events! As a reminder, please donate coats to the PTA coat, hat and mitten drive during the week of November 7-11. Drop off in the Ivy Hill commons.
