Hi Ivy Families! We celebrated Red Ribbon Week with a variety of themes to promote saying “NO” to Drugs. Thanks to the PTA for planning such a fun week! I would like to congratulate our 4th graders for putting on a fantastic performance this week. A special thanks to all the parent volunteers who helped with the scenery and costumes! Stay warm over the cool weekend and see everyone on Monday! Scott Picture RetakePicture retake day will be held on Monday, November 6th at 9:30 a.m. You must return the original photo package in order to have a retake. If your child is in afternoon Kindergarten, please bring them to the school at 9:30 a.m. for a retake. If your child was absent or is new to the school and you need an order form, please contact the school office. Fall ConferencesFall conferences are just around the corner. We will be doing an online sign-up similar to our Spring Conferences last year. You can start signing up at 10:00am on November 6th. We will send a Sign-Up Genius link on November 5th via School Messenger. Remember conferences are November 20th and 21st. HalloweenTuesday, October 31st is Halloween and will not be a traditional school day. We want this to be a fun and safe day for all. During the morning, students should arrive to school in normal attire (with the exception of AM Kindergartners). In the afternoon, we will be allowing students to leave for lunch/costume change. Cooperation and adherence to these times/procedures by all will provide an organized event and account for the safety of all our students. Please see the table below for specific details. As a reminder, it is the parent’s responsibility to check your family’s heads for the presence of head lice. It is also a good idea to make checking for head lice part of your family’s routine hygiene. If you suspect anything, please contact your family doctor, pharmacist, or school nurse for information regarding treatment.

Seasonal Health InformationThis time of year is when we notice sporadic cases of lice in the school community. Please take a moment to read about what you should look for, symptoms and ways to treat it at home. Please call our school nurse if you suspect that your child has lice or if you would like further information. All exchanges will be kept confidential. We appreciate your support!
Henry Cole...One Author One SchoolWe are excited to announce that during the next 4 weeks, Ivy Hill will participate in a special project called One Author, One School! Classroom teachers will be reading books by Henry Cole and we will participate in many fun activities as a school. We will complete the project with a visit from Henry Cole on November 8th! This week started the search to find the mouse and tweet out a class picture. Check #IvyHillLeague to see our findings! Students have begun working on art projects related to his books and the LMC is learning about Henry Cole and reading his many picture books. Book order forms will be coming home soon.
