Hi Ivy Families! We had another fun-filled week! Thanks Ivy PTA for arranging an enriching STEAM Museum Experience. The students were talking about it for days!! Next week is we will be celebrating Earth Day with a variety of activities. Check them out below! Have a great weekend!! Scott Walk to School Day - Thursday*Be Cool & Walk to School” on Thursday, April 26th and get a cool hand stamp for participating. The following are the six starting points throughout the neighborhood for all students to meet with teachers & parents and walk to school: Douglas & Hintz - 8:30 start to Ivy Hill Camelot Park - 8:40 start to Ivy Hill Windsor & Valley - 8:45 start to Ivy Hill Pinetree & Valley - 8:45 start to Ivy Hill Ivy & Arlington Heights Road - 8:40 start to Ivy Hill Burke & Palatine Road 8:40 start to Ivy Hill All students are welcome to participate. If you live on the other side of a busy road (Arlington Heights Road, Palatine, etc.) you can drop your child(ren) at the starting point closest to your home. Also, you can meet up with the Walking School Bus as it passes your house - you don’t have to start at the starting points. Let’s get active! Earth Day ActivitiesIn celebration of Earth Day, join us in a week of collections and activities to raise awareness of environmental issues and encourage families to reduce, reuse and recycle! Below is an overview of our 2018 Earth Week activities for April 23 - 27th. Go Green in April with these Recycling Drives April 23 - 27th Bernie’s Book Drive: donate your gently used children books - infants to 6th grade. Our goal is 1500 books which will be donated to at-risk children throughout the Chicagoland area. Reuse-A-Shoe Drive: bring in your old shoes, tie or rubber band shoes together Bag for Bags Collection: Bring a bag filled with plastic bags & film packaging (over TP, paper towels...) and know you are making a difference in saving our Earth. Yearbook Orders Extended - Checks OnlyPlease print and complete this form attached, place in a envelope to school. Checks made payable to Ivy Hill PTA will be accepted. Your check will be your only receipt. Buy a yearbook for cost: $16.00. After Tuesday the price of the yearbook is $20.00 (limited supplies)

Hi Eagle Nation! We had another packed week with with Bus Evacuation Drills, a famous author visit (Aaron Blabey of "Bad Guys"), PTA Book Fair and Open House! Thanks to everyone who helped volunteer to make the Book Fair such a success! Time: 9am - 3:30pm Allergy Awareness WeekMay 14-19, 2018 is Allergy Awareness week! For the third year in a row, District 25 will participate in events during Allergy Awareness Week to raise awareness of those who have allergies within our school community. Last year, we participated in the #tealtakeover and encouraged both staff and students to wear teal to show their support. We are again offering families have the opportunity to purchase Allergy Awareness Week t-shirts as a part of the celebration. The shirts feature a design by one of our very own staff members and match the shirts worn by district staff. Shirts must be paid for at the time of order (credit cards only this year), and will be available for pick up ay the District Administration Building at 1200 South Dunton the week prior. Please note that we will not be able to exchange shirts or add to the order once it has been placed. All orders are due by April 24, 2018. Welcome Back Eagle Nation! With Spring upon us, students were welcomed back with new graphics that highlight who we are and what we strive to be each day. We Are Courageous, Kind, Creative, Unique and Collaborative. It’s been fun to ask kids, teachers and parents what these mean to them and then find opportunities to demonstrate them on a daily basis. I look forward to the adventures ahead! Go Eagles!! Scott Open House and PTA Book Fair - April 11thCome visit you child’s classrooms to see all the great things they have been working on! Classrooms will be open from 6:30pm - 7:30pm for you to visit. Even if you only have a couple minutes, stop by to check out some of your child’s work! The PTA Book Fair will be open from 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm in the Commons. Feel free to stop by anytime to pick up some great books! Just Move It ChallengeIt’s time for the Just Move It!
