Hi Ivy Families! As we head into Spring Break, I want to wish you all a fun and safe time with your family and friends. Please take a few minutes to review some important information below. We look forward to seeing everyone via Zoom on Monday 29th! Enjoy your time together! Scott Travel GuidanceThe Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) has updated its travel guidance (linked here). CCDPH guidance is consistent with the City of Chicago’s Travel Order to reduce confusion among people living and working in Cook County. CCDPH’s guidance is our recommendation to prevent the spread of COVID-19. You do not need to provide any travel documentation to District 25, but we wanted to share the basic changes with everyone. Please contact the Ivy Hill health office directly if you have any questions about this: [email protected]. Anyone traveling from a state on the Orange list on this webpage is directed to:
It is important that our parent community stays informed, especially as conditions surrounding the coronavirus pandemic continue to change. Information about COVID-19 and how it impacts District 25’s school plans for 2020-2021 is fluid and therefore will be continually evaluated and updated in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. To ZOOM or NOT to ZOOM?We truly understand the various circumstances this school year has created and want to be as accommodating as possible for our students and families. With that said, we are starting to notice the difficulty of not having consistent attendance for our students who have chosen "In-Person" learning. Teachers plan their daily and weekly lessons based on who they expect to see each day. Therefore, moving forward after Spring Break, we will be using the following guidelines. If a student is... Leaving Early: Have fun! (NO Zoom) Going on Vacation: Enjoy your trip! (NO Zoom) Quarantine after Vacation: Thanks for doing so! (YES Zoom) Quarantining or Close Contact: Stay healthy! (YES Zoom) We expect you to be here at Ivy each day if you have chosen in-person. If your child’s attendance begins to become inconsistent with your choice, we will follow-up with you to problem solve the situation. Reminder - Care of Devices/Spring BreakAs we head into spring break, we wanted to remind families and students that district-issued technology devices are for school purposes. These devices should be stored over break unless students need to complete school work. We want to make sure devices are taken care of and ready for school when we return so please do not bring them on trips over the break. This is a good time for the devices to be updated, restarted, and charged to be ready for school. Thank you for your support regarding student devices. 5Essentials SurveyEach family is asked to please participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey, as a part of the Illinois 5Essentials Survey administration. The survey responses will never be connected to the identity of you or your child as school reports will only present aggregated information of how parents responded as a whole.
BOOK DRIVE & REUSE-A-SHOE DRIVEThe Environmental Awareness committee will be holding a book drive and a Reuse-A-Shoe drive in April. So, if you're doing any spring cleaning over break, please hold on to these items for our April collections. We will be collecting all types of books in good shape, especially children's books. For more information as to what type of shoes we can collect, please visit: https://www.swalco.org/182/Reuse-A-Shoe-Program Ivy Hill PTA NewsClick HERE to read more about our upcoming PTA Events! Thanks again to all our PTA volunteers who help on a daily basis to make Ivy Hill an amazing school!
