Hi Ivy Families, We had another wonderful week highlighted by Halloween! It was so fun seeing all the smiles on students faces throughout the day. Thanks to all the parents who helped organized the terrific classroom parties. We are looking forward to our Week of Service starting on Monday. Please be sure to check out the two great causes we are supporting below. Be Courageous, Be Kind Scott Ivy Gives Back WeekAs we head into the season of “thanks” and “giving”, we thought this would be the perfect time for Ivy Hill to show our Eagle Pride by supporting two great causes during our annual Service Week. We will be supporting two amazing groups, Hines V.A. Hospital to support our veterans and One Warm Coat. Eagles Support our VeteransVeterans Day is a special day for us to take time to say “thanks” to all those people who have served our country. Ivy Hill would like to show our appreciation by helping our veterans in need. We will be collecting “comfort supplies” (see attached) for our veterans from Monday, November 5th – Friday, November 9th and place in boxes outside their classrooms. We will then deliver these items to the V.A. Hospital the following week.
PTA “Hat, Mitten and Coat Drive” Did you know that nearly 15% of Americans are living in poverty and struggling to provide warm coats for themselves and their families? Make a difference and bring gently used hats, mittens and coats the week of November 5th. Boxes will be outside the offices in Ivy Hill Commons. Note from the Nurses OfficeThis time of year is when we notice sporadic cases of lice in the school community. As a reminder, it is the parent’s responsibility to check your family’s heads for the presence of head lice. It is also a good idea to make checking for head lice part of your family’s routine hygiene. If you suspect anything, please contact your family doctor, pharmacist, or school nurse for information regarding treatment. Please find more information below.
Help Ivy Earn $2500Each year, the ABC/25 Foundation awards $2,500 to all District 25 schools when 25% of the school’s families become members. In past years, we have used their $2,500 Membership Incentive Grant for updating lighting and sound systems, playground equipment, technology, app subscriptions, books, digital books, Chromebooks, Nooks, iPad minis, and more. Help us earn the $2500 this year by signing up today! Become a member online or you may complete an ABC/25 membership form PTA NewsClick HERE to read more about our upcoming PTA Events!
