Hi Ivy Families! Hope you all were able to enjoy the Snow Day and the Winter Wonderland!! We had such a fun week celebrating Global School Play Day and 100th Day of School. Reflecting on the last 100 days, it has been amazing to see how the students have grown tremendously over the last 100 days. Students have been courageous in trying new things and learning it is ok to fail in the process of growing. Students have shown their uniqueness and kindness in so many ways. Students have been able to be creative not only in Art, but Math, Reading, Science and all other academic areas. Students have also been able to strengthen their friendship and partnerships by finding opportunities to collaborate on a daily basis. I can't wait to see what's next for all our Ivy Eagles!! Scott Valentines DayValentines parties are scheduled to happen on Wednesday, February 14. Room reps should double check with their classroom teachers to verify the start time as they may vary by grade level. If your child is passing out Valentines cards to other students, the cards cannot have any candy or food attached to them. Trinkets such as pencils, erasers, stickers, etc., are great alternatives as long as they are not edible. Items such as goodie bags filled with treats or candy are also not permitted. Thanks for your cooperation! Arrival and DismissalThe traffic expectations listed on our website help to keep our children safe and expedite the process of getting our children to and from school. Please click HERE to find more information. To help expedite drop-off in the morning, please be sure to pull all the way to the end of the drop-off zone. Also, for your child’s safety, please make sure they only exit the car curbside and cross at the cross-walks. Please be attentive and follow the guidance of our staff members! You will see them directing traffic, helping children exit cars, and ensuring the safety of our students. Per Illinois State Law, CELL PHONE USE IS PROHIBITED in school zones. Recently there have been reports of parents double parking on N/B Burke near the entrance to the pick-up and drop-off circle in front of the school. This creates a situation on Burke where no vehicles can proceed northbound and obscures other driver’s vision. AHPD will be enforcing traffic laws there in the near future.
