Welcome Back! It was great to see so many smiling faces walking throughout Ivy Hill again! I hope you had an amazing Winter Break! My family and I were fortunate enough to escape the cold weather in Chicago and visit my family in sunny San Diego. Now that we are back in school, students and staff are super excited to see what the second half of the school year brings! We wanted to remind families to use the Attendance Hotline whenever your child is out of school. The school must be notified EVERY DAY your child is absent. The hotline is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Thanks for your cooperation! Once again, welcome back! See everyone on Tuesday as there is no school on Monday. Scott PTA Fun FairIvy Hill's biggest event of the year is coming up on Feb. 2nd! Fun Fair is the event that the kids wait for and we need YOU to make it successful. We are looking for moms, dads, and responsible high school, 7th and 8th grade students to fill many slots that we have. (This is a great opportunity for teens needing service hours!) Feel free to SIGN-UP for multiple slots if you are interested. 2018-2019 School CalendarAs you begin to plan summer and future vacations, please take a minute to look at next years school calendar. Sign-Up Here Erin's Law PresentationsErin’s Law, or Illinois Public Act 097-1147, requires public schools to provide child sexual abuse prevention education for children in prekindergarten through twelfth grades. District 25 began providing instruction in compliance with Erin’s Law during the 2015-16 school year. Age appropriate instruction helps students recognize unsafe situations, keep themselves safe, and understand how to respond to unsafe situations. School social workers work with each grade level to provide age appropriate information on topics such as: safe versus unsafe touching, the touching rule, secrets, and reporting. In middle school, the focus will shift to safe dating and self-advocacy. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please complete this form and return it to your child’s teacher prior to the presentation date (dates listed on the form)
Arrival and Drop Off RemindersThe traffic expectations listed on our website help to keep our children safe and expedite the process of getting our children to and from school. To help expedite drop-off in the morning, please be sure to pull all the way to the end of the drop-off zone. Also, for your child’s safety, please make sure they only exit the car curbside and cross at the cross-walks. Please click HERE to find more information. Please be attentive and follow the guidance of our staff members! You will see them directing traffic, helping children exit cars, and ensuring the safety of our students. Per Illinois State Law, CELL PHONE USE IS PROHIBITED in school zones. Recently there have been reports of parents double parking on N/B Burke near the entrance to the pick-up and drop-off circle in front of the school. This creates a situation on Burke where no vehicles can proceed northbound and obscures other driver’s vision. AHPD will be enforcing traffic laws there in the near future.
